2 spicy tahini recipes

I love tahini! It is basically a sesame-based paste that is used in Middle Eastern foods and especially in hummus. I often add it to smoothies as it is a source of calcium, magnesium and zinc. It’s also a great way to get some healthy fats into the diet.
Spicy tahini is one of my favorite ways to eat tahini. It goes great with pita bread, vegetables, crackers or in salads.
Ingredients:
2 cups of tahini
1-2 cloves of garlic depending on your taste. (I use the pre-minced garlic from Trader Joes)
Crushed red pepper (optional – use to your liking)
Cayenne pepper (optional – use to your liking)
1-2 tsp paprika (optional – use to flavor the tahini)
1 tsp ground cumin (optional – use to flavor the tahini)
Salt to taste (I use 1/2 tsp) – if using salted tahini, you will not need to add additional salt. If using unsalted tahini, you will need to add additional salt accordingly. I usually start with 1/4 tsp and then I can add more if needed. Then you can always adjust if needed after tasting the final product!
